Vintage 1960s Sterling China American Export Lines Coffee Pot

A charming piece of mid-century American maritime history.

This blush pink and white coffee pot was produced by Sterling China of East Liverpool, Ohio for American Export Lines, the historic U.S. passenger and shipping company.

Its beautifully simple tapered silhouette, soft pink body and crisp white lid feel surprisingly modern today — a perfect example of the clean, considered tableware designed for mid-century ocean travel.

The Sterling China and American Export Lines provenance is clearly marked on the base, making this more than a pretty piece of vintage serveware. It is a collectible piece of American ocean liner history.

Beautiful displayed on open shelving, styled into a bar or coffee station, or mixed with other vintage ceramics for a collected table.

Sweet, graphic and wonderfully unexpected.
