Las Sofias — Pair of Vintage Swedish MCM Ribbed Ceramic Table Lamps with Custom French Shades

Meet Las Sofias.

A very good pair, because one Sofia simply wasn’t enough.

This matched pair of vintage table lamps combines ribbed white ceramic, warm turned wood and oversized custom globe shades for a look that feels distinctly European, softly sculptural and wonderfully 1970s.

The ceramic bases are vintage Swedish pieces dating approximately to the 1960s–1970s, paired with hand-turned barley-twist wooden elements that add just enough warmth and character. Their rounded custom shades were made in France and give the lamps their beautifully exaggerated silhouette.

They cast a soft, atmospheric glow rather than harsh task lighting, making them especially good on bedside tables, a console, living-room side tables or flanking a sofa.

Both lamps have been professionally rewired and finished with twisted brown cord and inline dimmers, so the vintage charm comes without vintage electrical drama.

Sold as a pair.

DĒSSO NOTE

Lighting is one of my favorite ways to make a room feel collected rather than decorated.

Las Sofias have exactly that mix I love: something vintage, something sculptural, something slightly unexpected — and a custom shade that makes the entire piece feel completely its own.

Use them as matching bedside lamps, on either side of a sofa, or anywhere symmetry could use a little personality.
