Vintage Brass Pineapple Lidded Urn on Paw Feet, c. 1970s

A wonderfully eccentric vintage brass pineapple formed as a small lidded urn, complete with a crown of sculptural leaves and four diminutive paw feet. Its beautifully aged surface ranges from deep amber and oxidized bronze to warm coppery gold, giving the piece the layered character that only time can produce.

The leafy crown lifts away to reveal a polished golden interior, making the vessel suitable for holding jewelry, matches, keys or other small treasures. It is equally compelling left empty as a sculptural object on an entry console, bar cart, mantel or collected tabletop.

Long associated with hospitality and welcome, the pineapple became an enduring decorative motif in tropical and Hollywood Regency interiors. This unusually detailed example combines that playful symbolism with a surprisingly dignified pedestal form.
