1970s Faïencerie de Gien Oiseau Bleu Fruit Plates — Kiwi, Lemon & Fig

French tableware, but make it a little fruity.

These charming vintage faience plates come from Faïencerie de Gien’s iconic Oiseau Bleu collection, combining the house’s classic blue-and-white decoration with wonderfully vivid fruit illustrations.

Each plate features the recognizable cobalt blue geometric and floral border surrounding a colorful central fruit motif. The contrast feels distinctly French — traditional faience craftsmanship with a playful 1970s twist.

Available in Kiwi, Lemon and Fig, each design has its own personality while still working beautifully together as a collected set.

The kiwi plates are particularly good: vibrant slices of yellow-green fruit dotted with black seeds, sitting against the crisp blue-and-white border. The lemon and fig variations continue the same Oiseau Bleu Fruits vocabulary, making the group ideal for mixing across a table or displaying together on a wall.

Made by Faïencerie de Gien in the Loire Valley and marked “Gien FRANCE” on the reverse.

Use them as dessert or luncheon plates, mix them into an existing blue-and-white service, or hang them as a little French fruit gallery.
