Three shells are obviously better than one.

A beautiful vintage set of three graduated ceramic scallop shell dishes by Otagiri, Japan, finished in the softest blush pink fading into creamy white.

Each piece is heavily molded with delicate shell ridges and a glossy glaze that catches the light beautifully. Together, they create an almost sculptural stack — but they’re equally pretty separated around the house.

Use the largest as a serving or centerpiece dish, the smaller shells for jewelry, soaps, olives, salts or little collected treasures.

Very Palm Beach. Very coastal. Absolutely no anchors required.

Marked Otagiri, Japan and dating approximately to the 1970s.

DIMENSIONS

Largest dish: approximately
15" W × 15" H × 1" D

The two smaller dishes are graduated in size.

I’d only add their individual measurements once you measure them rather than guessing from the photos.

CONDITION

Very good vintage condition with a beautiful glossy glaze and vivid blush coloration.

The existing listing notes the pieces as structurally intact, while Chairish categorizes the overall condition as vintage with some age-related imperfections.

As with all vintage pieces, minor variations and signs of previous life are part of their character. Please review all photographs closely.

DĒSSO NOTE

I love these stacked together almost as much as I love them scattered around a room.

Use one for jewelry, one on the dinner table, one in the bathroom — or stack all three and let them be the fabulous little shell sculpture they clearly want to be.
