Vintage Portuguese Majolica Grape Cluster Pitcher — Hand-Painted Ceramic Jug, 9.25"

A pitcher shaped like an enormous bunch of grapes because apparently Portugal understood that water vessels could also be fabulous.
This vintage hand-painted Portuguese ceramic pitcher is sculpted as a full cluster of plump purple grapes, topped with overlapping green and cream vine leaves and finished with a dramatic brown branch-form handle.
Every grape is individually molded in relief, giving the body wonderful dimension and texture, while the glossy hand-painted glaze creates subtle variations of lavender, violet, green, cream, and earthy brown throughout the piece.
Even the opening gets involved: the spout is tucked beneath sculptural leaves, turning the entire jug into one big piece of botanical pottery.
At approximately 9.25 inches high, this is a substantial piece — large enough to make a proper statement on a dining table, kitchen shelf, bar, or sideboard. The original listing gives the width at approximately 6.5 inches.
Use it as a pitcher, fill it with flowers, or do absolutely nothing with it except let a giant ceramic bunch of grapes live happily on your shelf.
The underside is marked Made in Portugal. The maker is not clearly identified, so I would leave it unattributed rather than guessing.

DĒSSO NOTE
Did anyone need a giant ceramic bunch of grapes to pour water?
No.
Do I fully support it?
Obviously.
This is exactly the kind of Portuguese pottery that makes a kitchen feel collected instead of decorated. Put it next to old wood, linen, vintage glassware, and let it be the slightly unhinged centerpiece.
