For those of us who like our pottery with a little authority.
This vintage terracotta vessel features sculptural lion-head handles and a rich red and cream crackle-glazed finish. At approximately 22 inches tall, it has the presence to anchor a corner or give an entryway an excellent first impression.
Attributed to Italy and estimated to date from the 1960s–1970s, it brings a Mediterranean sensibility to a collected interior. The decorative handles add character, while the glazed surface invites a closer look.
Style it beside a wooden console, against a warm limewash wall, or on a sturdy pedestal. Dried branches would make a beautiful addition, though it holds its own without anything inside.
We’d surround it with quieter textures—linen, stone, aged wood—and let the lions do the talking.

DĒSSO NOTE
A little drama is good for a room.
Give this vessel breathing space rather than surrounding it with smaller accessories. One confident object can do more than a shelf full of fillers.
