La Buenavista - Vintage White Art Deco Ceramic Lamp with Custom Peacock Shade

Meet Buenavista. 

A singular vintage table lamp pairing a sculptural white ceramic base with a custom shade created especially for DĒSSO CŪRATED.

The stately ceramic base is decorated with raised fan and ginkgo-leaf motifs arranged within repeating architectural panels—a distinctly Art Deco vocabulary softened by its luminous white glaze. Above it, an oversized cylindrical shade in silky white fabric reveals an intricate tonal pattern of peacocks, flowers and trailing foliage.

The shade’s white-on-white botanical imagery appears subtle from a distance and becomes beautifully detailed when illuminated. This contrast between the geometric ceramic base and romantic chinoiserie-inspired shade gives the lamp a sophisticated, highly individual presence.

The lamp has been professionally restored with new wiring, a braided electrical cord, switch and complementary hardware. It is tested and in working order for standard U.S. use.

The precise maker, origin and date of the ceramic base remain unidentified. Its form suggests a mid-to-late-20th-century Art Deco Revival design, possibly of European origin.
